TVET schools receives textbooks to boost teachers methodologies
The Workforce Development Authority (WDA) receives today, one thousand and five hundreds (1500) textbooks in ICT, Carpentry, Tourism and Hospitality.Purchased under the collaboration with the Rwandan-German Development Cooperation through the Programme of Eco-Emploi supported by GIZ, the texts are expected to give more clarity to teachers in different TVET topics mentioned above hence improve the quality of the TVET education system.
Four hundred eighty (480) books on Wood technology (carpentry) covering topics such as Understanding Wood, Carpentry and Joinery, Graphic Guide to Frame Construction. One hundred eighty (180) on ICT: Computer Hardware Maintenance,IP Telephony Interconnection Reference, TCP/IP Network Administration and Switched Networks Lab Manual. Three hundred and sixty (460) on Hospitality and Tourism on: Food Presenting Secrets, The Theory of Hospitality and Catering,Ecotourism, just to mention a few.
The TVET Schools that are involved in the implementation of the Workplace Learning (WPL) has also received consumables such as timber, assorted fixtures (nails and screws) and practical hand tools.Nyamata TVET School working with Bugesera ICPC, Mpanda TVET School working with Muhanga ICPC and Rubengera TVET School working with Karongi ICPC. Their apprentices have the opportunity to enhance their skills through practice sessions at the ICPCs. The mentioned schools will be the priority for the distribution of the textbooks.
